Swimming with the giant sea turtles - May 2006
I love to go places - but having two special needs children keeps me pretty close to home; due to expenses and commitments to them. Still I try to find "budget" types of travel and include them some of the time as well.

Many of our past travels have revolved around their medical treatments, which have lead us to Baton Rouge,LA - Salt Lake City Utah, and New York City.

My husband and I finally got to take a honeymoon 8 years after we were married and ended up in Vegas in Nov. 2004. This was the first time I ever flew.

I would love to go to Hawaii one day - and maybe Europe.

Las Vegas Weekend Trip ~ Oct. 2006

We traveled light and packed alot of punch into our short weekend trip.

Everyone knows there are lots of things to do and see in Vegas. This was our second trip to Vegas. We took my two brothers along with us this time. I finally got to see the Grand Canyon and we made sure to stop in at the Hoover Dam as well.

10th Anniversary Cruise - May 2006

My husband and have been together over 15 years. But only married 10 of those. (My hubby would tell you that last part...)

So I told him we needed to do something special just the two of us this last anniversary. So we had a huge rummage sale and put aside some work money and headed out on our first cruise for the both of us - sailing during our 10th Anniversary this last May.

We sailed out of San Juan, Puerto Rico - stopping at St. Thomas, St. John, Dominica, Barbados, and Aruba.

The cruise was so relaxing we had a wonderful time. We stayed busy doing things on all the islands, but I will never forget snorkeling with the giant sea turtles in Barbados and playing with the green tail monkeys at the Wildlife Reserve.

The Boys' 2nd Camping - Fishing Trip - August 2006

We traveled with the grandparents, a few hours into Minnesota and stayed in a cabin at Belle Shores Resort in Nevis. The resort is smaller in size so it's nice and quiet.

The boys loved it at the cabin. Our eldest would jump into the lake and swim every day. And our youngest took 2nd place in the minnow races. He named his minnow "Speedy". HA!

We traveled to nearby towns and took time to stop at Moondance Ranch, The World of Christmas, The Headwaters of the Mississippi, and Paul Bunyan's Animal Land.

The kids once again made it the entire week. I was so proud of them.

Chicago is my kind of town....

In May 2005, another mom and I went to the Autism One Conference in Chicago. It was such an amazing trip. We even took one whole day just to sight see. We took a bus tour around downtown - stopping at the Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, Field's Museum, Navy Pier, Sears Tower, and the John Hancock Building.

Oh... Canada

In May 2005, we took the kids to Winnipeg to see the Wiggles. Our youngest, who adores the Wiggles, and I got to meet them at a Special Needs Meet and Greet. And they were so generous with what the did for our family....

It had been over 8 years since I took a day trip to Winnipeg with my mother. I was very excited to take my children there. We also stopped off at the zoo and statue park before heading home. We had a great time!

North Dakota Badlands - Medora

One of my favorite spots to visit in my home state is the Theodore Roosevelt National Park by Medora, North Dakota.

We took the kids there on a day trip during thesummer of 2004. I remember going there when I was younger with my mom and dad.
