I visited Lucerne in August 2005,a week before the big flood on Switzerland and Southern Germany : I was lucky!
I like Switzerland and then also Lucerne,a beautiful city that has a lot to offer : breathtaking landscapes,mountains,a beautiful old town with many squares and lanes to discover.
The main attractions are: the Chapel Bridge with the Water Tower,symbols of Lucerne;the "Dying Lion" monument,sculptured in the natural rock in memory of the heroic deaths of Switzerland mercenaries at the Tuileries in 1792;the Jesuit Church,first example of sacral Baroque in Switzerland;the Water Spike,that regulates the water level of Lake Lucern;the Spreuer bridge;the Town Hall,on the bank of the Reuss river,built in 1606 in Italian Reinassance style;the modern Culture and Convention Center;the Old Town,with its lanes and squares to explore;and more.
