"I love to travel!!!!" monorailgold's Profile
Hello, I love to travel. I guess I got the "bug" from my dad. He was in the Navy for 25 years, so we moved constantly. I got to see some great places as a kid and always felt fortunate that I got to do it with my whole family. When I got married it was the same story. My husband was in the Air Force. We were able to travel to Europe several times while he was still in the Air Force and havent stopped even though he is now retired. He works for a private airline and I stay at home with the kids. We get to Europe at least once a year, if not twice. My favorite places are Bavaria and Rome.
We are the kind of travelers who do it on our own. For my first trip to Germany, I spent 7 months doing research. I found the perfect hotels, booked the best car deal, found places that met our interests, and even printed up map quests to get us to our destinations. I found so much for us to do and so much information about it that now my friends and family come to me to plan their vacations. They tell me where they want to go and I give them a small binder of info about the area they've chosen. To us this is the only way to travel. No schedules, no timetables. See what you want, when you want. Traveling this way takes away all the stress so we can just enjoy our vacation.

Hi Donna, Thank you for the tip you look great in the photo
Hi Monorailgold I reread your journal on Venice, and your tip on Dorsoduro made me want to go back right away. We visited Venice last August, and Dorsoduro was my all time favorite. I am planning to go back to get to know Venice better. I loved it!
