Koala being helped during the Victorian Bush Fires

Sam the miracle Koala bear survives the fires
This poor little Koala (Sam) actually received help from the Fire fighter and swallowed three entire bottles of water. Its a miracle that it survived! Sam has been captured and is now recovering in a sanctuary.
Icy drink for hot Koala bear in the heat

Even the native animals are suffering in the heat

If you look inside at my Adelaide pages you will see this little furry Koala bear having a full bath to keep cool and doing it willingly!
Bushfires approaching Port Lincoln January 2009

Port Lincoln Bushfires

The fires were very close and some farm houses and buildings were sadly lost. No human loss of life in this bush fire but always a sad loss of wild life when these catastrophes occur.
Christmas Carols in the Park 2008

Adelaide South Australia

Please have a look at my Australian and Egyptian pages for a bit more information about some of my travel experiences and my own part of the world too.
Lightening over the city and beach 28th Jan. 2009

The Magnificent power of Mother Nature

Another picture of the Summer Lightening storm we had in February 2009.

Shark Sightings

This photograph was taken by the Lifesavers Helicopter very close to Largs Bay beach in Adelaide South Australia
Railway lines buckled under 45C degree heat

Just have a look at this!!!

We are experiencing all time records for extreme heatwaves in Adelaide at the moment. This is what happened to the train tracks on the second day of five days so far over 40C heat... the day it reached 45.6C in the shade but much more of course in full sun.
Pelican being a lazy waiting to pinch the fish!

The Pelican-His Beak holds more than his Belly can

They are notorious all over South Australia both inland and on the coast... wherever there is water and fish. Their wing span is approximately 6 feet across and they fly all together in formation both morning and night in a huge shape of 'V'

We have also had horrible fires in South Africa, luckily not many lives lost. All the best.
