"Nostalgic Style in Lu Gang" Changhua by luckymiffy

Our ancient lived in houses like what you see in pictures. There are a lot of narrow alleies that you can explore in Lu Gang. Sadly this very tranditional style place is only popular for the local, instead of foreigners. The only reason I could figure out is people don't even know how to get there, nor getting to know the place by Lonely Planet( very limited informartion about Central Taiwan!!) It doesn't mean you can't ask for tour guide... actually I read one's blog and he mentioned about he is Lu Gang tour guide who speaks English and Japanese.

Lu Gang is not far away from my grandma's house, so i lent two bikes and did bike riding with my friends on the 3rd day of chinese New Year. I went through Provincial Highway No. 135. On my way i found this interesting place and there are no other tourist but very few people living there.
This print on the wall presents the residents' last name. I called it a "name map" that you can tell people's relationship in this small villiage. It's rare and cool for me.
Take a mini bus behind Taichung train station. You also can get there. Ask officials in tour center 1st before leaving the front of train station.

this is a three-section coumpound house and it offers people to visit. In the main hall there is the tablet to memorize the owner's ancient, and the budda or chinese god picture is put in the middle back.

• Pros:too crowded in holidays but not so bad
• Cons:I've been there many time, and i still want to be there once more.
