Here's a shot of the main drag and rail in AC. Just behind me while shooting this you can find about seven or eight pizza joints all lined up on the street. The pizza isn't exactly New York City, but it's good--and the Cusquena beer is always great.

This is a shot of a nice little brook flowing into the Urubamba river, and some of the tented market stalls beside it. The market has every tourist trinket you can imagine. I got an Inca Kola t-shirt and a Cusquena t-shirt, both of which ended up shrinking (without machine drying) to little-girl-size, so if you know of a smallish girl who wants one, let me know. ;) By the way, apparently bartering/negotiating is OK here, as in border towns in Mexico. Luckily, it seems even easier in Peru than in Mexico.

On the train from Cusco/Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes you'll follow the Urubamba River valley, part of which is called the Sacred Valley (further towards Cusco). At AC, you'll be able to get right next to it, and maybe even get a hotel looking out onto it. This was shot from a small but very nice hotel whose name escapes me (I didn't stay there). Gorgeous, isn't it?
