The people there are very interesting, the Euphrates river is very close to our camp, i'll be there until next aug, long ways to go yet, it's nice there(daytime), I like the weather. I'm hopin that I can pick up a little bit of Arabic before I leave there so that's one positive about being there. (CRAZY PLACE ANYWAYZ).............Nov.11.05, i'm back in the states now, glad to be but it's safe to say that my year over there was pretty crazy, i'd rather make it sound not as bad but common!! We were in Ramadi, crazy sunni arab people!!! I've had a few close calls but i'm back home now, my hearing (specially on my right side) has gone to hell but i'm definately looking forward to our next deployment there, i'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie but not that crazy anymore, but still wondering which city we'll be put at next time, I really wouldn't mind if it was Baghdad, I hear the poags there live the easy life, the combat outpost sucked! No PX, no post office, none of that good stuff that poags have, we'd stop at the TQ PX while passing through and that was always like going to the damn mall....just going to the dining hall made our day! Actually eating good food was a hell of an experience sometimes, I missed that good food so much, imagine eating greezy chicken the majority of the time, I hated the food that we were given so much, then I hated eating MRE's also, so I didn't eat all that much over there, I mean I did eat but I was on the hungry side alot of the time, the cool thing was ordering food online, I did that alot, ordered plenty of Ramen noodles, a whole lot actually, this is one thing that I like about the internet, a little access to the outside world at my fingertips...... |
