This hotel was a welcome getaway from the manic city outside. It serves good food and has a rooftop bar with amazing views over the city. The rooms are clean and the cleaning staff excellent (except when they hint for tips). If you can, get a Nile view room for great views and good people watching at night. The location is excellent with the Egyptian museum just out the back door and the Nile in front. It is showing its age but I believe Ritz Carlton is taking over and redeveloping the site at the end of 2008. Be aware the road out front is very busy and also security is very heavy on entering the hotel.
