My Home Town, and Birthplace !

by Durfun - last update: Jun 2, 2006

Home is where the 'body' is !!!

That's right, this is where I reside !!

London, being an old historic city, with it's influence from being a Superpower once, and the nucleus of The British Empire, is still a force to be reckoned with.

This is where is all started, and still happens...

Politics, world-wide trading, finance and insurance, this is the place !

Come on over, and see for yourself !

Hop-on Hop-off Sight-seeing Tour Buses

You can catch these from Victoria Tourist Information Centre.

The open top double-deckers serve as perfect transporters for happy revellers & tourists alike.

The itinerary shows you the route to be taken, & you can decide where you want to spend how long. Another bus is never far away, for you to hop back on.

Slightly further afield ...

Hampton Court Palace > the fabulous and imposing royal palace of King Henvy VIII. This place has lavish gardens, beautifully maintained, and a huge longwater canal.

Leeds Castle > on the way to Maidstone; another former Royal residence, which was last in the ownership of The Standard Oil tycoons, and Lady Bailee's estate; which she subsequently bequethed to the State ! Yes, there's no shortage of noble, kindred spirits in this city !

Windsor Castle > one of the oldest standing castles in the country, this STILL serves as a royal palace for the Queen, every April, for 1 month. She entertains guests and Heads of States here during her residence.

Pros:"Full of history, charm, regalia, and modern chic !"
Cons:"Very big, need to decide exactly what to focus on ..."
In A Nutshell:"An old-time, and yet modern-day, fast-paced wonder city !"
