Bellagio: A must to Stay!   Check Rates

  • Bellagio's opulence is famous worldwide.

But there were a few things that we felt did not measure up to either its reputation or our expectations.

First off, the line to check in was abominable. After 5 hours on a plane we had to drag our luggage through the lobby for over an hour to get our room. Secondly, the ammenities could have been better. For example, if you are paying over $200 a night for a room you should not be charged $2 for an extra mini bottle of shampoo, nor should you have to pay to use the exercise equipment in the gym. And,there were NO BATHROBES. I'm at the Bellagio.

Happily, there were also many things about the Bellagio that were great. It is one of the most beautiful and elegant places I have ever stayed. The indoor gardens were stunning and the pool area even more so. Our room was perfect with its cozy king size bed and we loved the bathroom, made entirely of Italian marble complete with whirlpool bath and his and hers sinks.

There were several things about the Bellagio that I loved. One of them was the pool area. It is exclusive to guests and the foliage and trees surrounding its 8 pools make privacy easy even among hundreds of people. The pool area cafe was one of my favorites, as there is really something to be said for being served an elegant meal while in your bathing suit surrounded by beautiful things.

The casino here is also exceptional. Though we don't really gamble we found it to be very quiet compared to most. It also has an air filtration system that makes cigarette smoke almost undetectable, which was a big plus for us and a definate advantage over other casinos.

Another favorite of ours was the piano bar located in the casino. Here they serve the famous Bellagio Cocktail, a concoction of champagne and passion fruit that you could drink all day long.

The Venetian: The room was awesome!   Check Rates

  • Wow! What a hotel.

We stayed at the Venetian from 10/20/04 - 10/29/04 and not one thing went wrong.

From the moment you arrive, you are surrounded in total elegance (even the valet parking area outside has a hand painted ceiling).

The lobby is amazing with marble everywhere and a very efficient check-in desk. I must say that I was concerned about the service after reading previous reviews, however not once did we have a problem.

Our room (and when Isay "our" I mean my wife and I) was fantastic. All of the rooms are suites and they are big. The furniture, in fact the whole room was lovely quality. Just like the pictures on the Venetian website.

It does take a while to walk from your room (we stayed in the original part of the hotel not the Tower) approx 5minutes but even the elevators are class!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, nobody expected to be tipped which was nice. Of course we did tip, but there was no pressure.

The cocktail waitresses were beautiful and friendly and La Scena bar was one of the best we saw. We one a couple of jackpots on the slot machines...........yi hah!!!!

The whole place is breathtaking and that is before you see the 2nd floor shops and canal. It actually took my breath away, there were opera acts in St Marks square that i would have paid to see.

If you're from England then the hotel is not that expensive. I stay at the Hilton in Dartford and some of the food was cheaper at the Venetian!!!!
