this is very basic accomodation but is in an excellent location as it just off time square.
there are 2 types of room option which are dorms and private rooms, neither have their own bathroom but I have to say that the shared bathroom is clean.
the hostel has a breafast room and a common room. It also has a great Deli Next door.
I stayed here in feb 2002.

Unique Qualities: Location, Location, Location!!! - this is what makes this hostel stick out.

This is hotel was clean but had very small rooms, most of which shared a bathroom which was to be fair clean.
The staff were friendly and helpful, could probably do with redecorating inside and during my stay some of the TV channels were fuzzy but then who goes to New York to watch TV.
you can get rooms that look onto the Empire State building.

Unique Qualities: not to expensive for the location and you can get rooms that have a view of the Empire State building.

I enjoyed my stay at the Milford Plaza, I thought it was very nice and in a good location.
the room was clean with an en suite, teh hotel has a big lobby but I must warn you that the rception alwasys seems to be bussy with long ques, it took me 30mins to check out, in away you can use this to your advantage as the the fact people are continuely queing you could check out late and go unoticed.
This hotel is also used by alot of airline crews but they don't hold up reception as they have their own desk.
What ever you do, don't buy show tickets at the hotel as they come at a premium, even the guy on the desk told me this.

Unique Qualities: good location, helpful staff.
