Spent 2 nights in San Francisco on the way home from a work trip to Seattle. Beautiful city, I loved it a lot more than I thought I would! Arrived on a Friday afternoon. Got a Southwest flight down to Oakland. Silly me had lost my ATM card a week earlier - so I had limited cash, and had to do everything by credit card. This ruled out getting an airport shuttle to my hotel, so I waited for the bus to Oakland BART. |
Stayed at the San Remo hotel in North Beach. After I'd checked in I went for a walk around Fisherman's wharf, pretty touristy. Went to the bar at the top of the Bank of America building. Great views of the city from there. Next moring got up earling to get a head start on the sight seeing. Tried to have breakfast at Mama's on Washington Square. But there was already a queue for a block to get in at 8am! |
