4" inch heel advise again to those brave souls like myself... be careful of slippery, sloping sidewalks especially on the Champes Elysses. I had the embarrassing pleasure of wiping out and falling flat on my back as i step down into the street.

I found that if you just avoid eye contact and refrain from speaking (don't say No Thanks, you bozo, then they'll know for sure you're a tourist!) that you can escape the beggars. Don't let them pass you a piece of paper for you to read... it's just a note written in English asking for your kind donation.
