A Poet in the Corn

I've lived in Des Moines since early 1999. Although I grew up here as a child, I moved away as most Iowa teens are want to do.

Returning as an adult gives you a new perspective on this city.

There is tons to do and see throughout the town.

Pros:"Nice residents, small town feel with medium sized town facilities"
Cons:"Serious lack of concerts, modern art, and minority representation - but more is being done about this every year."
In A Nutshell:"Not such a bad place after all."

Thanks for the East Village Tip. I vist Des Moines about twice a year. The people we know there do not get out much. I look forward to checking it out. Thanks

I enjoyed reading your introduction to your then-and-now-again home town. Good that you can sum it up as "Not such a bad place after all."
