Home to the Famous Roman Ruins While spending a week in the south of France, it was impossible to not stop for an afternoon in Frejus. Colonized in 49 BC by Julius Caesar, the commercial activity of the town largely ceased after it's harbour silted up in the 16th century.
Home to some exceptional Roman ruins, it's considered to be a "Little Pompeii." The ruins are scattered in and around the lovely old town center. |
