Las Vegas May and August 2004

Entryway to the Luxor
Our first fantastic trip to Vegas. We stayed and the Luxor which truly is one of the wonder of the world. To simply walk through the front entrance is breathtaking. Spent 3 days with another couple and only made it half way up the strip. I left realizing I HAD to get back...
The Excalibur!

August 2004

So I got back to Vegas 3 months later and took all 4 of my boys (the oldest was 11!) and we stayed at the Excalibur. They loved it and still ask to go back but the hotel was just so-so. We took them to the Knights dinner show which was the highlight, also to Circus Circus where they went on rides till 2 of them threw up. They loved the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef (highly recommended) and also the parrot shows there. Afternoons in the August heat were spent at the hotel pool. This is a family hotel, not the place I will stay the next time I go without my boys.
My son and the sharks

Mandalay Bay August 2004

This is my son standing in front of the shark tank at the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef. The tank surrounds you and you look up to see sharks, sea turtles, and many other fish passing over head. They have a hands on tank where the boys petted sharks and some other flat fish. We spent 2 hours here so the expensive price tag was certainly worth it entertaining wise and educational wise.
