Ever heard of the saying "Bu Dao Chang Cheng Fei Hao Han" ? It roughly translates into "one is not a real man until he has been to the Great Wall of China". Having done that and experienced so much more in my short 5 day trip to Beijing, I've come up with my own thought and this was it "You will not be proud that you are a Chinese until you realise the culture and history that you were borne from" |
| | FREEZE! Having been born and bred in the warm tropical climate of sunny Singapore, the coldest temperature i've experienced prior to my Beijing trip was on top of the mountain and that was only a four degrees......we were on our way to the train station on the first night.....just fifteen minutes away and my lower part of my face had already gone numb! wicked! i bundled up so much only my eyes could be seen. :P |
Impromptu Calligraphy We were walking in the middle of one of the palaces when I happened to see some beautiful calligraphy written on the cold hard ground. the artist was this man with just a thick brush and a pail of water and he was writing some idioms all over the ground. such wonderful writings! | | |
