this museum contains a lot of historical and cultural artefacts of New Zealand. there are so many things to see and read about and discover! this place's a definite must-vist!

once you enter the museum, you will see this huge piece of art(that's what it is to me). it is very majestic and detailed at the same time with its delicate carvings. it was told to us that this is the traditional gateway found outside a maori house.

this is a traditional maori house. Shoes are not allowed inside...the inside of the house gives a mysterious impression. it is quite dark and there are many wooden figures placed around the house.

quite a lovely place........nice ride on the cable car up to the botanical gardens.

these are quite famous buildings in the district....the beehive certainly is a very interesting piece of infrastructure......and my mum might have felt like she was really the queen bee!
