You wouldn't think this pseudo-bordertown would be much on the side of romantic, but you might be surprised. I guess any place is a good place to be in love, but under the right circumstances RP is way up there on the list.
We were the only ones sitting on a patio overlooking the ocean one afternoon, it was so awesome. We just sat and talked over some margaritas, and there was not a single distraction. No people, no television, and nothing to do but sit and think of how lucky we were to be right there at that exact moment.
The best part of Rocky Point for us is the proximity. It's a mere 6 hour drive to the beach, and out of the country. We love going there just to relax for a couple days. The best time for us to go is in the off-season when there aren't hundreds of college students doing beer bongs, and trying to get laid.
Hopefully we'll be going down there soon for Nate's check-out dive (hint-hint), that is if I can finally convince him to get his SCUBA certification (come on, honey!).
- Pros:It's close, the people are super nice, the beer is cheap
- Cons:It's pretty dirty, people wave raw shrimp in your face
- In a nutshell:Don't drink the water

Thanks for the tips! We're heading there this winter and really looking forward to it!
there r many diff. places in Rocky pnt that r great 4 scuba. the reefs filled w/ sealife. or scuba @ bird island with 100's of seals,fish,dolphines & other sea life. Seems like a bad spot & weather conditions sucked but ussually its a great experience.
Dont worry... Youll be wastin away again in Margaritaville... It was purchased, and should be up and running around October/November.... Gotta Love Rocky Point....
I don't believe I've ever been threatened by a shrimp. Interesting stuff here. : )
