"Koppom" Koppom by bill&nina

Koppom is a small village in the swedish 'county' of wermland, fairly central and bordering the southern part of Norway. Like many other rural areas of western Europe it has suffered a large economic recession in the last couple of decades, resulting in a drastic reduction in property prices. this together with the proximity to the prosperous southern part of Norway has led to a large influx of Norwegians either to retire or to set up holiday homes. Koppom and the surrounding countryside is quite beautiful and surrounded by numberless lakes to swim in, to fish (kept stocked with many types of fish by the local fihing/hunting associations), during the Spring and Summer. While the winter offers both beautiful, peaceful and exhillerating cross country sking as well as 'Downhill Skiing in a couple of centres - the most visited is at Valfjellet. This magnificent countryside is also a walkers delight
