No, that's not us in the American Airlines commuter jet on another runway. Ask yourself, how could we take a photo of it if we were inside of it? This photo I took from another runway after landing in N2111Q, a Beech Bonanza. We were on a continuation of our vacation flight departing Dayton, Ohio late afternoon and landing here at Springfield-Branson regional Airport just to spend the night. So, this is why we have a Springfield page to tell you about a good hotel for the night. The tower to the left in the photo is Springfield's Air Traffic Control Tower, that we spoke to for landing and taxi instructions.

Early the next morning we departed in the Bonanza for Albuquerque, New Mexico and there is a page already prepared on that town. Traveling by light, private aircraft gives one a lot of discretion in routing. We headed southwest from Dayton, Ohio because upper mid-west storms prevented us from flying due west back to California, and we did want to stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Springfield-Branson Regional Airport is so-named for a reason. It also serves the entertainment and retirement community of Branson, Missouri somewhat south of Springfield. This is country music territory, and there are an incredible number of entertainment spots in Branson, established by well-known entertainment stars, and others.
