The Glockenspeil is an interesting piece of art being that it's a clock & all that. I saw it do its thing at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon & it went on for 20 minutes or so. Got a bit boring in the end but good to see the great support from the international community who crammed into Marionplatz for the show.

No visit to Munich would be complete without a visit to the Hofbrauhaus - the place where Hitler met his political friends and conspired to take over the world. The steins are a challenge to get through (well the 3rd was) and the Oom Pah band is both interesting and funny to watch. A Planet Hollywood place was across the road when I was there - a weird blend of the old & the new when both establishments are viewed from the road.

When visitng Munich you will notice the abundance of the humble sausage. Unlike in New Zealand the sausages are not 'beef flavoured' etc but are good, strong gastronomic delights (unless you are a Vegan) that need sampling - especially with a local beer.
