  • They are everywhere & doing silly things for a cheap shot to be included in an extensive collection of holiday snaps. Most of the time the silly things idea has come from other tourists who are far too sensitive (up tight?) to do that sort of thing so they convince others to make the pose.

Warnings Or Dangers: No War Please, We're British
  • Tip Rating:
  • Many an interesting sight there is around Parliament, Westminster Abby and Dowing St area. One in particular is a large amount of protest signs in front of the grassed square beside the Abby.

Of the three times I have been to London, the messages have been often changing with the ones photoed here taking issue with the situation in Iraq.

The signs and living place of this bloke are quite surreal. Freedom of speech?

  • Beware those crafty sales people as they encourage you to buy up on your trip. Remember that you have to carry everything home eventually. On this particular trip I had to go down the road to Paddington station and "borrow" a luggage trolley so we could get everything down to the station without busting a sprocket.

For those of you on my side of the world: If you are going home via Asia then you have a 20kg limit on your luggage. Through the USA you get a much bigger allowance of 2 bags so you can bring home a lot more stuff.

The tube is not a good substitute for the bus tour because you can't see anything.

This is a very nicely done page with some excellent tips Guy. I was only able to be in London for 5 nights so I missed out on a lot. Joyce
