A Wander down the Ramblers In 1999 Barca won the Spanish Football League and the town was one huge party place when we arrived. Given my other visits here, Barcelona is a party place no matter what the reason.
The best depeiction of this is the main drag (street) of Les Ramblas (or Los Ramblas in Spanish) running between Plaça Catalunya in the centre with the Christopher Columbus monument at Port Vell at the other end. It is a constant stream of human traffic including many a pick pocket. Very colourful, very vibrant and always something happening. |

| | Interesting Architecture Gaudi was obviously a very interesting bloke. The Gaudi park and his couple of appartments that he designed are great displays of this. The amazing Sagrada Famila was started back in 1882 and isn't expected to be completed for another 50 years or so. |

Nemorino Thu Nov 22, 2007 21:53 UTC Glad you enjoyed your visit to Barcelona. I was there once when it snowed for the first time in decades, and you can still buy postcards of that morning. The snow melted after about an hour, but lots of people had taken photos in the meantime. | merak Thu Dec 7, 2006 09:00 UTC Hey, those cacti in Barcelona are only to be seen in a specialized park on Montjuic hill! You have to walk uphills from Drassanes. There is also a park specialized in lirium plants (Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer). | scottishvisitor Tue Oct 17, 2006 22:25 UTC You are so right all good things take time = even in Barcelona! | BluBluBlu Wed Apr 26, 2006 09:07 UTC Great Barca page...good photo's!
