Devil's Forest: English Pub in Venice

Nightlife Spot: Devil's Forest
Devil's Forest is a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge and s an authentic English pub where you'll find a comfortable balance between the English- and Italian-speaking worlds. There are plenty of beers and ales is on tap (Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny, and a line of German beers) and it's open daily 10am to midnight. Things can get a bit rowdy later on but it's a good spot to find your favourite beer in a place where the Italian versions are pretty average by comparison.

Fiddler's Elbow: The Pub with the Satellite TV

Nightlife Spot: Fiddler's Elbow
Five minutes from the Rialto Bridge & not very far from Devil's Forest is Fiddler's Elbow. Apparently it's called "the Irish pub" by the locals. You could almost call this a chain-bar as there Fiddler's Elbow bars in Florence and Rome. They tell me that the satellite TV here is the only satellite TV in Venice with all channels: Sky, American, sports, music, whatever. In summer, there's also live outdoor music. It's open daily 5pm to 12:30am.

Nightlife Spot: Harry's Bar
Harry's Bar is probably the most famous named bar in the world - the one in Venice especially due to its association with Hemingway and it's a bit of a tourist trap. This place is ok, but nothing to write home about. Expensive drinks in what could be described as another American bar overseas (so said my friends from Detroit). It would be better to find a local bar where the locals go. If you do go here you have to try the Bellini (cocktail) which is the signature drink & at approx €14 it's fairly pricy. Don't get upset if a waiter shouts at you - it's nothing personal or so I am assured.
