The Rendezvous is a good place to stay as it is well located at the top of Albert St so not too far from Queen St shopping or places to eat off Albert St. The rooms are all of a good size with some bigger variations on the higher floors.

If you upgrade to Club Class you will get free breakfast each morning and free drinks between 5.30pm & 7pm each evening. The Club lounge is a bit small but has good views over downtown Auckland and the Sky Tower.

Check out their website for special pricing and always try to talk about room price and getting a better deal.

Unique Qualities: The hotel has an okay gym and a couple of restaurants but you will probably want to eat out.

The Langham has the best service of any place I have stayed at in Auckland. It is an older hotel and the rooms are on the small side but they are well appointed and do have nice furniture and good beds. Last time here I was on the Executive floor which came with wide screen TV and antique furniture.

There are always several people out front ready to hep with luggage, find you a taxi or assist in giving directions.

Unique Qualities: The gym here is very good and nothing ever seems to be a problem - even at 10.45pm when one finds that he has no toothpaste...... 5mins after a call to the front desk a toothcare kit was delivered!!
