When I looked at the maps and the pictures of the various places I could go in the fall of 2007, there wasn't much hesitation - Yellowstone. The granddaddy of the national parks. Even for me, a person who can blitz through a park in lightning speed, running hiking trails in order to see as much as possible, this is a park that needs a lot of time because there is a lot to see. When I was cruising back to my car in the boat across Jenny Lake in Grand Teton NP, I told the driver my ambitious plan - to see the highlights in two days. She wished me good luck, and chuckled softly.
Words almost can't describe what Yellowstone has to offer. As I sift though my pictures and prepare tips, I realize I took an astounding 350 pictures in just two days. What's more amazing is trying to figure out how to pare that down to a manageable number to talk about here.
Two days left me hungry for so much more. It's better than the Grand Canyon. It's better than Yosemite. Yellowstone is simply the best.

John, this is a 1st-class page on Yellowstone NP! You saw so much more than I did on my recent trip - wish I'd known of your page earlier! Loved the variety of pools, geysers, waterfalls and the petrified tree! Excellent photos to go with your narration.
