Beautiful Mountain Country

In 2007, I spent a couple of days visiting northwestern Wyoming. I knew that I was going to really have to fly to see the highlights of the massive park that is Yellowstone, but I also knew that since I was in the neighborhood, I had to spend at least a day in Grand Teton.

Oxbow Bend Turnout

After a morning spent in Idaho at Craters of the Moon, I was able to make it to the southern part of the park around lunchtime. I was saving a trip across Jenny Lake for the following morning, so my goal was to loop around 191 and Teton Park Road. Since most of the hikes go up into the mountains, I further knew that my hit-and-run visit wouldn't afford me much time for a hike. So instead, I spent my efforts at stopping at all the scenic overlooks and hitting any of the side roads that were available. So, please take a look around at some of the things you can see and do, especially on a short timeframe trip!

Like you, we had so much to see & no time! Thanks for this excellent drive around Grand Teton! Right on with Jenny Lake - we were there at peak time, not so good. Thanks for this excellent tour of the places we missed and your Travelogue pics too!
