Round 2

In 2004, I made my first trip to Devil's Tower as part of a tour through the Black Hills of South Dakota. I remember coming home and getting my film developed (in the pre-digital days), and to my horror, my money shot of the tower was obscured by a bug flying in front of the camera. That was the day I decided to save up for a Digital Camera.

That was also a day we arrived after a very long leg of the trip, so we had little time to do more than circle the tower and drive on. I wanted to take one of the other trails at a minimum, so when opportunity to go back out west arose this year, I made sure we could give Devils Tower another go. This is one of my favorite places in the National Park system.

It must be serene; all out there on its own and able to hike up. The trek sounds steep. Your pictures cannot reflect the reality of being up close to this monument, for sure. Nice presentation.
