In 2004, I made my first trip to Devil's Tower as part of a tour through the Black Hills of South Dakota. I remember coming home and getting my film developed (in the pre-digital days), and to my horror, my money shot of the tower was obscured by a bug flying in front of the camera. That was the day I decided to save up for a Digital Camera. |

|  | That was also a day we arrived after a very long leg of the trip, so we had little time to do more than circle the tower and drive on. I wanted to take one of the other trails at a minimum, so when opportunity to go back out west arose this year, I made sure we could give Devils Tower another go. This is one of my favorite places in the National Park system. |
