Kokomos Island Cafe: Probably pass...

This is located in the Mall of America on the upper floor with many of the other restaurants. We chose it because the decor screamed "family friendly" and the menu was a little more diverse than some of the other choices. While it was a Thursday night, the place seemed very empty. We were seated quickly, and given time to look over the menu. Service was average - the waitress was attentive, but didn't know the menu or bar selections very well. Wifey went with a salad, I took a chicken sandwich. Both were OK, but probably a little less than what we expected for the price. The kids menu is decent, with several kid-tested choices, and they do provide crayons and paper for the little ones. After dinner, we walked around a little to check out the decorations, and they do a good job with the island theme. In the mall, I don't think any of the places probably are great food for great value, Kokomos is definitely fair for what you get, but nothing to write home about.
