Be an actuary, see the world

I got my first chance to come to New Orleans just a few months before Katrina. The spring actuarial convention was being held there. A strange choice (New Orleans in June), but I was excited to see something new.

In 2012, the actuaries were back in town. I now can post a few more reviews and pictures. The food in New Orleans is to die for!

The food!

Without a doubt, what I will remember most from my trips is the fabulous food. The first visit, in three short days I had shrimp creole, gumbo, fried alligator, crawfish etouflle, beignets, fried soft-shell crab, and a fried shrimp po boy. Every single thing I ate was fantastic. In the latest visit, many of the above made a return visit, along with new crawfish dishes and a few Hurricanes!

Trip #2

On my trip to Biloxi, I decided to fly into New Orleans (since it was cheaper.) This gave me an opportunity to visit Jean Lafitte NP - and put a few tips out there on them!
