"Craters of the Moon" Craters of the Moon National Monument by PinkFloydActuary

When planning my fall trip, I wanted to see something in Idaho. It was a natural to choose Craters, since I'm a huge National Park fan and the stark landscape sounded appealing. The only problem is that it is way off the beaten path. A couple of hours from Idaho Falls, with not a lot to see in between. The park itself is on the small side, and there isn't a ton to do - granted I didn't hike any of the long trails. But I'm not sure I missed a ton.

In the end, I don't regret the side trip, since I did want to see something in the state. It didn't take a long time, but a lot of driving was necessary to get there. It's an OK site, but I doubt I would need to come back any time to see any of it in more depth.
