Restaurant Name: Azzahra Hotel & Restaurant
Azzahra-Restaurant is a unique place in Jerusalem. It is the only one (as far as I know) that serves fresh handmade Pizza directly out of an Italian Pizza oven! It has a nice familiar ambience with a garden area and can be also reserved for groups, meetings, parties. Go there and tell them I send you! (I lived in their hotel area for quarter a year ;-)
Favorite Dish: Try the Pizzas! Azzahra has a huge variety and someday a special-day-pizza. To the pizza order a big fresh Taybeh-beer in an original Taybeh-mug! It's the best beer in the whole Middle East (visit my Taybeh travel tip)! Sahtain!

Broasted Foods: Fried Chicken a la Oriental Fast Food

Restaurant Name: Broasted Foods
If you are really hungry and you are around Salah-ed Din Street north of the old city in east Jerusalem and you like fried things, then you HAVE to go to Broasted Foods. (If you only eat healthy and you hate fastfood, you should not). Order the menue and eat it upstairs where arab mothers with their kids enjoy the meal, the AC is freezing and the little Arafat-altar in the back is shining.
Favorite Dish: The chicken menue: two big pieces of (deep-)fried chicken and a huge portion of potatoe wedges - coming with garlic sauce and ketchup. Enjoy also the salads. All together it costs around 15 Shekels. They have it also as takeaway.

Restaurant Name: Mak Sandwich
If you like sandwiches you have to visit - or call - Mak. They have a huge variety of the bread with topping theme and even deliver all of it for free to your home or office. Internationals and their organizations love 'em for this (i am just working for one and will order a sandwich right now). Young guys on wheels will deliver the fresh made order to your place (if you give them a little tipp, they will love you for that)
Favorite Dish: The Jerusalem Mixed Grill on baguette is big and good - if you like liver. The hamburger is also good and the chicken teriaky. They all cost around 10-15 Shekels. Mak also offers sandwich- or traditional menues with hummus and so on. You can even see their meals and order online!

tex805 Sat Jun 21, 2008 00:41 UTC The location is ideal - 5 minutes' walk from the Old City. Food is excellent, and hand-thrown pizza cooked in an olive-wood fired oven. April 2008, the single room rate was 70 shekels a night, but it went up due to the Greek Orthodox holiday season. | beebrazil Sun Mar 16, 2008 21:43 UTC Hiiiii I never could imagine something like that , a gay parade in Jerusalém, wow, send more pics, hehehe just kidding, it´s ok they are in all of cities, why not in Jerusalém? Regards from Brazil. | aaaarrgh Sat Aug 20, 2005 20:25 UTC Fascinating insights. Good work!! | gilabrand Wed Aug 17, 2005 09:41 UTC An Arafat altar? LOL |
