| Winter..... long, and very cold! |
| | Spring has returned Well, I'll start off by saying that, Montrose is no longer the small town it used to be. It's grown a lot in the last few years, and there are a lot more people here now.
Last winter was a cold one! We kind of went from Summer right to Winter. Now may is here, and it's just starting to Warm up a little bit. The grass is growing and flowers are blooming!
How beautiful this town looks! Spring has been long awaited here in Montrose and I think I speak for everyone when I say YEY! lol |
Montrose For the 11 years that I've lived here, I've noticed montrose changing little by little. Of course, change isn't always a bad thing. I mean lets face it. Before, there was hardly anything really to do here.Well, montrose is no longer the small hometown, where everyone knows everyone....and there is absolutly nothing to do here, besides ride your horse, or drink lemonade after gardening and farmin and stuff. Within the last two years Montrose has GROWN a ton! We now have a Target going up, we have two small mini malls, and food courts up. We also have two movie theaters, a skate park. Some more resturants, etc.
But for now, the only place to "shop" still is the local Walmart. lol Or drive 60 + miles to Junction.
Some say that Montrose has grown so much, it's sort of like a smaller Grand Junction. Which in its own way, like the traffic and such, it is. But, I've heard that in a few years, some thing this town will become bigger!
However, even with all the growth of this town. It's still has some of the same vibes of a small town. We are still a small town compared to others. We still have those little kids that sell their homemade lemonade and yard sales and stuff. People still ride their horses, and do the farming, and hang out on their back or front pourches and watch the sunset. :)
After a long hard day, it's nice to just sit and watch the sunset. For a moment each evening, it's nice and quiet, peaceful. Sort of like life stands still. And everything is beautiful.
But I can only put my point of view here... So if you really want to know what it's like. Come check it out. ;) | | | Sunsets where time can stand still in Montrose |

| | Iquitos, Peru! I went to Iquitos to help a family who need some help with building an Orphanage... Well, they have it built, now they need help building houses around the orphanage, and getting the kids into them. This was very exciting. I was there for a month, and since I'm such a fan of the Rainforest/ jungle, I finally got to get to go and see it for myself! The children are soo sweet and loving. They love to be loved, and give hugs! Most of all, soccer! I didn't really know how to act around the street children... But once we got a ball out, and started playing, it was awesome! The Amazon River was a great sight! I got to see Pink Dolphins (yes pink)... And got to hold a 20 ft anaconda! It was a great experience. I look forward to visiting Iquitos again |
