DANCE OF LOVE

by bali_junkie - last update: Jun 15, 2007

Over Jeddah sky in my 747 home

Home is where I rest my head to sleep

I didn't think much when I decided to leave my home country and led a new life with the light of my life. I thought it would feel like any other job assignment that I got used to - leaving my familiar surroundings, mom, sis and friends, and settle into an unfamiliar place that would soon would feel like "home"

Back then in the middle east, I made it for 3 years. Perhaps it was all the safety net of colleagues and new friends around me, or perhaps all the travellings didn't give me a chance to 'miss' home. For all I knew, I've never felt that home is a 'faraway' place. Intense traveling might have played a big part in changing the perception of 'settling down' . It didn't matter to me anymore where I lived. I could be in India for 3 days and the next thing I knew, home was where I lay in bed for several hours in Jeddah then the day after, home would be a comfortable bed in JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur. Work your mind intense enough and it will stop trying to figure things out and decide....home is where I rest my head to sleep.

Home is where my heart is

Indonesia is my mother land. I was born and grew up in Jakarta. During my travelling years with mom, there're countries that I'd been so fascinated and decided it's THE place I wanted to live in. She took me places I've never dreamed of, everything was so amazingly different. I was in awe and decided to take more travelings on my own.

Traveling had been my biggest inspiration, it still is. But the only place that keeps coming back to mind is my first love with Bali in my early 20s. Travelling there for the first time with my sister, I later found myself constantly being "called back" there - sometimes alone, sometimes with a group of friends, sometimes work related, the love only grew stronger with each visit. Now that I found my balinese friends, so close in my heart, I know I'll always find myself "home" there with them. Bali will always hold a special place in my heart.
