Big City, big britches!

Please excuse the shoving.......!?

Temples of Commerce- 1914 Gagen, oil on canvas
This painting depicting the skyline of Toronto was on display in the TD Gallery at the Reference Library until the end of December.
It proves that ole Hog Town has always been 'on the move! By the time the painting was finished the skyline of Toronto had alreay changed.

I love living here in downtown Toronto..... we may not be as spectacular as other large cities, but it can be filled with many things to do, places to see and new things to eat!!!

Toronto is a great eating city and while some restaurant are very expensive there are many more that won't empty your pocket book.

Though I will confess the average downtowner has NO manners when it comes to the commute, so I try to avoid busy areas at rush hour and at lunch time.
Dundas Square

Change and Construction

Attached to the very large shopping mall, the Eaton Center, is also a Best Buy and a Canadian Tire. There is currently a very large movie theatre being built here and often Dundas Square plays host to free concerts, markets and events.

There is also a tourist info booth located at the S.E. corner of Dundas Sq.
Here you can buy bus tours, get maps and information.

There is also a T.O. Tix booth here selling theatre tickets, mostly full priced tickets but some discounted. It is a good place to see what is playing in the city.

Cold Winter-- Hot summer city!

I adore summer here, there is so much to do and see that you can hardly get it all in... even living here! June through September play host to some of my favourite festivals!

--BUT--

If you are here Oct-April don't let the cold and SNOW deter you.

Take a look at one of the local free papers when in town, they will have listings of events and concerts. They come out on Thursdays look for either "NOW" or "EYE" both will tell you what you want to know and can be found almost everywhere.

New Orleans is nice, a little Spanish, a lot of French, and unlike no other.
