"Syria by bus" Syria by al.ladin
Syria Travel Guide: 3,975 reviews and 10,300 photos
My friend and me have been two weeks on the road. You can stay here much longer to explore everything, but 14 days is enough to visit all important places and even something more. We traveled all Syria round by bus, "mikro"bus, taxi and we had to hitchhike sometimes (very successfull). We went from Damascus to Damascus via Palmyra, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo, The Castel of the
Knights and - in the end - we stayed for two days on the seaside.
I’m not going to write a lot about history of Syria (it is rich and interesting). All you will find in a guidebook (btw. the #1 is Lonely Planet).
There are some places in Syria, you must visit – Palmyra or Crac des Chevaliers. They are mentioned in every guidebook. And others you are just curious about them– River Euphrates or Aleppo.
What I like is a surprise: places you didn’t know before and you will find very nice and interesting. Places like Deir ez-Zor or Doura Europos .
We have stayed in many hotels round Syria. To compare with other hotels in the Middle East (Israel or Egypt) I had traveled before, this ones were cheaper and clean. Nice surprise! Accommodation page

Amazing pages. Someday I hope to go but its out of my comfort zone right now.
my technique for corssing roads in syria: a very slow suicide-like crossing - so slow that cars can avoid you. Never make unpredictable moves. Tested wordwide, works quite well everywhere.
Sounds like a wonderful trip you had, excellent accommodation tips & I love the Qala't ibn Maan photo! I hope to explore there too one day, great page, thanks! (~_~)
