"WHERE I USED TO FEEL AT HOME" Dublin by Rita_
Dublin Travel Guide: 5,062 reviews and 9,242 photos
This is where I lived and worked for almost two years!
The official Irish name of Dublin is Baile Atha Cliath.
The Liffey divides Dublin in two. On one hand, there is the more "popular" North side, known for its colourful markets and street traders and on the other hand, the South side, considered to be more chic.
Dublin itself doesn't offer too much, in a sense of important sites, and you can manage to reach on foot all the important sites in the city centre, such as: Trinity College, Christ Church and St. Patrick's Cathedral, Grafton Street Area, Merrion Square, The Castle....
In Trinity College you can visit the exhibition of ancient Irish texts, where you can find the famous Book of Kells among other important documents.
Don't miss Temple Bar, the cultural quarter of the city, where you'll find a charming maze of cobblestone streets, restaurants, bars, galleries and theatres.
... If you have a chance, don't miss out the opportunity to go out of Dublin to see some countryside!
- Pros:enchanting live music in Temple Bar
- Cons:too many "soft" rainy days ... whatever the season!
- In a nutshell:... sitting on a bench, reading Basquiat in Trinity College ...
