Perth is a warm place with friendly people. People greet you with smiles, "How's your day?". Their goodbyes are in the form of "See you later!"
Places of attraction are far from each other. Many people will recommend self-drive to get the most of one's trip. We didn't manage to have self-drive so opted for a mixture of local guided tours for further areas and moving around ourselves in Perth City itself.
The free CAT (Central Area Transit) Service is an excellent service that helps to cut down on transport costs within Perth City and surrounding areas like Fremantle, Northbridge.
As the AUD currency is stronger than SGD, we found most of the items relatively expensive. This differs from about 5 years ago when i was in Sydney and Melbourne.
Ours was a 6-day trip. Ideally, i find 8days to be a better time to enjoy more of the major attractions at a leisurely pace.
Food wise is great. However, if you love chilli, please please bring along your own bottle. It's more economical that way. At most of the eateries, you have to pay about AUD0.30 for each small packet of chilli sauce. And they only have one type - the sweet chilli sauce. |
