Getting TO/AROUND: Really, I always use the Tube in London as it is seems to be the easiest way . (Or I haven't worked out the busses yet :) ) The stations are well signed so really you can't go wrong. To get around 'quicker' It is useful to know when you use a specific tube if it goes west or east, or, north or south as the signs will say e.g. 'southbound'. However, you will also get detailed information about the stations your tube stops at on the way. On most stations, straight after you enter, you should also be able to find a small tube map that is free and you can take with you.

For those that would like to have one before, go to the link below and select tube-->maps --> standard tube map

On this site you will also find information about all London transport. If you figured out the busses let me know ;)

Getting TO/AROUND: If you want to go to London and not run around and buy bus or tube tickets when you are there, ask for a 'one day travel card' at your train station. This card will get you to London, around London and back home and is not much more expensive than just a return train ticket. It is for unlimited use of the public transport in London for that day.

Kew Gardens was a neighborhood near me in Queens, NY. Next time I'm in London, I'll have a look at the original!
