I know that I like travelling and go around the world, when I have the money of course. For the time being, I've been working in New York City, enjoying the scenery, restaurants and the culture too for the past five years and love every single minute of it. I also like going back to Jakarta, Indonesia to visit my family. I also like taking pictures wherever I go, rather than shopping for stuff, so I don't have to carry anything more back home. In the near future, I hope I can keep on traveling .. until I'm very old and can't go anywhere else then probably I'd stop .. but not in the near future. For anybody who sees my website, I hope you'll enjoy my pics and stories.

One of my loves in this world is my love of photography. This is one of the reasons why I am always motivated to travel, so I can take a lot of pictures and cherish the memories with my family, as well as other people. Being exposed to different cultures and traditions is an eye-opening experience for me. The only thing that would make me sad is the lack of opennes of some people in the world. Understanding each other's culture and traditions are the key to peace in this world. I hope with all the pictures I have been taking for the past few years can highlight what is great about different peoples in this world. There are so many beauties in this world, so why should we not share it?

My biggest temptation has to be food. I am willing and always want to try different food from different parts of the world. The best way to experience the local is to mingle with the local, and where else do you go to eat other than to go to where the locals go, because you and I know, the locals always know what's best. Aside from my occupation as a cook, my love for food stems from my passion for eating. I eat a lot of anything, anytime, anywhere. I like to try different cuisine from around the world, and which sometimes costs me my stomach. But life is only once, I would like to enjoy it (especially food) when I can.

The first thing I do when I travel is to find the history of the place where I go. History of a place determines the culture of the people, as well as the tradition that they hold and preserve. Places such as temples, old government buildings and museums are my favorite destinations. By visiting all these places, I could better understand the cultures and traditions of the countries I visited.

Nature is one of the best things to enjoy and appreciate, because it makes travelling worth while. A journey is not complete without beautiful surroundings such as mountains and rivers, in combination with great weather. I really like taking pictures when the weather is nice and it really compliments the experience that I have in wherever place I have been.

There is nothing more interesting in travelling than to have an adventure. A little challenge to me is sometimes needed to make travelling more exciting. Crossing this ricketty bridge in Bali, riding on an elephant's back in Yogyakarta or trying to figure out how to go around Shanghai in a taxicab without knowing Mandarin in advance are some of the exciting moments in travelling around the world. Trying something new and exciting is like adding spices in your life.

In different countries, there are different ways of lives, therefore they have different cultures which creates different arts. Cultural influences of a certain places for most of the times are apparent in other places, and they are showed in their artcrafts such as masks, statues, textiles, dances, and so on. To me this is exciting, because I realize that in the end, everybody is influencing everybody else and essentially, everybody is not so different from one another.

In the end, life is not complete without a company of others, especially without the one you love who loves you back. My journey around the world is just so much better with a company of my husband. He really makes travelling so much more fun and exciting. He also makes a great travelling companion because he is also willing to try different things and always ready to travel to some place new. I love him for that and for other sentimental reasons ...
