Kefalonia is not the place for you if you're looking to party hard and show off your tanned toned bod. However, if you're looking for quaint fishing villages, mountainous drives, nice Greek food and a relaxed Meditteranean attitude, this is this right island for you.
Visit the co-operative winery for a tasting, check out seaside restaurants that serve up traditional Kefalonian fare, and wander around the gorgeous little places like Assos, Fiskardo and Sami. See the Drogorati caves (filled with stalactites and stalagmites), see the Melisani underground lake (where the boatman will sing a quick tune to show off the acoustics), or just walk by the olive groves. You can even lounge around the beaches, which range from quiet little havens to larger more commercial (but no less beautiful) attractions. |
