Bornholm | Where the land meets the sea - Helligdomklipper |
In 1996 I spent the whole April on this beautiful piece of the Danish land. I went there to study the Danish language. Besides the intensive language course at Bornholms Folkehoejskole we learned to paint on silk, to sing Danish folk songs, to dance Danish folk dances and believe it or not even to play Shakespeare in Danish, though affected by uncontrolable stage fever. Last but not least we travelled around the island to explore its beauty. Some of the tourist attractions worth to see are Hammershus which once used to be a grand castle as well as Østerlars Rundkirke and Nylars Rundkirke which are round in their shape. On your own you can discover the largest lake or the largest waterfall on Bornholm... |
| Christiansø from Frederiksø |
| | Christiansø, Frederiksø and Græsholmen From Bornholm you can take a local boat to go northwest to these Ertholmene (Pea islands). We got stack on the first, the bigger one with just 1 shop, no cars, no real roads, no drinking water, just low stone living houses and the sea around the island and the sea birds flying high over our heads... Those who can read in Swedish check out this lovely web site with lots of colourful pictures: http://axelnelson.com/ertholm/index.htm |
