The Homeland Northampton is a great town, famous for its shoe-making industry upon which it was founded an ruined. In the early 17th century, england went to civil war an Oliver Cromwell's new model army was fitted out with Northamptonian footware. Cromwell won the conflict but after his disastrous commonwealth (bloody commies!) the monarchy was restored but it had not forgotten. Outside the Trainstation in Northampton there is a plaque denoting the previous location of our castle which was demolished as penance for siding with Cromwell. |
Sport Nowadays Northampton is probably best known for its Rugby team, "the Saints" who won the Heinikken cup a couple of years ago. To a lesser extent the football team "the cobblers" are also known although they are less successful |
