Just starting the Journey

Chicago skyline at night
A little about me and my travels. I grew up and lived most of my life in a small town in a very rural area of Southern Illinois. Currently I have lived in Dallas, TX for about 5 years. I promise I'll put up some Dallas tips soon, especially restaurant tips. Dallas really isn't of much interest to tourists in my opinion, but maybe they will be helpful to those who travel here for business or who may be moving here.

I have only travelled within North America to this point. I found VT when I was planning a trip to Mexico this past fall and found it sooo helpful.
Me at Golden Gate Bridge in SF
Some of the places I have visited.

Chicago, IL, USA - One of my favorite places in the whole world. I'd like to move there. I have visited probably 10 times. Unfortunately I only had my digital camera there once. I'll have to post some pics and make a few tips.
Florida, USA - My Grandparents used to winter there at Lake Okeechobee. My parents now winter in Ft Myers.
SanFrancisco, CA, USA - Another very vibrant city.
Toronto, ON, CN - Some friends and I visited our friend Amar who was going to business school there. A very cosmopolitan city.
Puerto Vallarta, MX - Just completed my VT page. Very laid back beach holiday location.
Guadalajara, MX - VT page in progress. Very cool Mexican city with lots of things to see and do.
My Friends and I in Toronto
Some places I would like to visit:

New York City, NY, USA - I have 2 friends who moved there, so now there are no excuses.
Washington, DC, USA - Our national capital, to see the government sights, museums, and monuments.
Germany - Many of my families ancestors are from there. Would also love to take in the Munich beergardens.
Paris - To see the museums and all the sylish people.
Amsterdam - To see a diverse European city and the canals. Maybe even sample the goods at one of the cafe's.
Italy - To see all the ancient architecture in Rome, the canals in Venice, and gorge on Italian food.
HongKong or Tokyo - To see a modern cosmopolitan Asian city.
China - For the Chinese culture and history. A friends mother is trying to organize a trip in the next year or two. I can't wait.
Thailand - Because all the Thai people I meet are so darned nice, all say I should go to Thailand, and speak so fondly of thier homeland. Plus I love the food, the spicier the better.
More of Latin America - My trip to Mexico whetted my appetite to see more of Mexico, as well as places like Costa Rica, Argentina, Peru, etc.
