The riches that Florence has to offer are so many and varied that you could never hope - and nor should you try - to see them all in a single visit to this ageless beauty of a city. Leaving aside the surfeit of magnificent art, glorious churches, elegant shopping, Renaissance architecture, beautiful gardens, colourful markets, great restaurants (the list goes on and on) that are overwhelming in their abundance, there is much pleasure to be had here from simply wandering through the narrow streets, strolling by the Arno, sitting in piazzas and al fresco cafes, losing yourself in the ebb and flow of this endlessly fascinating, fabulous place.
