A Bedouin tent in the lobby is the first thing you see as you enter the Golden Tulip hotel. The parrot (an African Grey) lives in the bar. The rooms all open onto a vine-hung atrium and are fine, as long as you don't get the cubbyhole that is obviously meant for children accompanying their parents in the adjoining room. The beds even had plastic mattress covers -not the most comfortable way to spend the night! Just check - the other rooms were all perfectly OK.
Unique Qualities: The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from restaurants, shops and the beach. And the tut (mulberry) juice we were given on our arrival was delicious.
