Famed for its gardens, their flowers repeated everywhere on wonderful tiles, Shiraz's proximity to Persepolis and Naqsh-e Rostam, its poet's tombs, mediaeval bazaar and the great shrine of the King of Light are just some of the pleasures the city offers its visitors.

Leyle...these pics in Iran make me want to visit...very mysterious place - Naranjesta is so close to the romantic languages - Naranja for orange...
Another educational page for me, and I relish it. The spices, tea, mosque, Bazaar, Garden of Paradise, Persepolis, the royal tombs..this and much more was such a delight to discover via your brilliant pages/photos.
The name Shiraz sounds beautiful & exotic and obviously the town lives up to the name! The sohan and gaz sound delicious!
Leyle, I enjoy your Iranian pages very much. This one I didn't see yet. Finally I booked my trip to Iran by end of october.
The architecture is stunning--traveling here would be like a visit to Aladdin's world!
i cannot believe i havent seen this page yet! i also cant believe i had 5 minutes of silence in the office to eat my lunch and see your page! hooray! :)
Sohan is from Qom :)
What a marvellous place, so much history, plus gardens and colourful local lifestyles. As usual, complemented by great reading and photos. Thank you.
I must stop reading your pages, they're too distracting!
Yes, Shiraz is so splendid! And the gardens, again, the mosquees (where there is real life!) the bazars; too much! Thanks for sharing your wonderful way of looking at things Leyle
