Back in Brisbane after Amazing Time in Europe | Carcassonne, France - August 2005 |
Am back in Brisbane after my dream trip to Europe. Will slowly but surely add pictures, tips and comments to my pages.
I can't remember how I stumbled on to Virtual Tourist, but I will never forget how helpful it was when planning my recent European trip. |
Europe 2005 On 22nd August I headed to Paris, down to Carcassonne, then back up to Paris. After some time in Paris I joined a Kumuka tour that headed down the French/Swiss border to Monte Carlo. After that we headed to Italy to see Rome, Pompeii. Florence & Venice. Up to Munich to see the Neuschwannstein Castle, then on to Vienna where the tour ended. I then spent 5 days in Salzburg & 5 days in Vienna (brushing up on my German), then flew over to Athens. I spent some time in Athens, took an overnight trip to Delphi & a 1 day, 3 island cruise. After that flew across to London. Took a Trafalgar 4 day tour of England & Scotland. Was able to do some day trips out of London to the places the tour missed, then the rest of my time was spent in London. Had been waiting years to do this trip, and luckily everything worked out perfectly! :-) |
Family Trips As I was growing up my parents took my brother and me on many 4wd trips in Australia. We travelled through Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. Some of the highlights were Birdsville in outback Queensland (complete with breaking down and waiting all day to see another vehicle), the Flinders Ranges in South Australia, Wombeyan Caves in New South Wales, and the Daintree in Northern Queensland.
Our one fancy trip as a family was to Bali, Indonesia. We had an absolute ball. We got to see all of the touristy bits, and were able to take a day trip with a guide who took us further afield. I loved the traditional dancing so much I convinced my family to take a night trip to see a well-known dance troupe. |
Previous Trips By Myself 1994/1995 - Germany - As a German student I was able to spend 2 months in Neuss with a host family. During this time I was able to spend New Years with family friends in Ulm.
1997/1998 - Germany - As a Business German student I spent 1 month in Cologne/Koeln on a Business German course, had a weekend in Brussels, a few days in Lubeck, Christmas and New Years with friends in Ulm, then did 2 months work experience in Radolfzell. At the end I spent 1 week in the south of The Netherlands with family friends.
2002 - New York - I was lucky enough to go on a business trip to New York. Unfortunately I didn't have much free time. Would really love to return one day. |
