"Gao" Region de Gao by gmg61

The city of Gao doesn't have much to show, with the exception of a giant red sand dune on the other side of the Niger river, the streets of sand with an old abandoned service station where donkeys usually stop and some ruined buildings in colonial style, emory of the time whem Gao was a stopover city for the transafrican flights of Air France and Sabena, and the travellers couldovernight at the hotel "Atlantide" (telephone number: 3!).

If the golden times are over, Gao is still a crossroad: here arrives the trail from Tombouctou and the one frm the Adrar des Iforas and the one that leads to Niamey.
